So I was just thinking of this awkward moment I had on the train. On my commute to work this past Friday I managed to find an empty seat. It started getting packed and this kinda chubby Nigerian girl was standing next to me and eyeing me down. I tried to ignore her and continue reading my book, but she kept staring at me. She was standing so close I could smell the coconut oil and shea butter. She was clenching a book under her arm while browsing lipstick alley lmao. I wanted to start a convo to kill the awkwardness and ask about her book. But then I read the title.... 'Why black men love White women'. I backed out like nooope.
I think she liked me? I feel bad because I didnt say anything the whole train ride. I didn't want her to get the wrong idea. She got annoyed at some point and when I looked at her, so she just patted her weave and looked away.
How do you guys handle awkward moments like that?
