Australia is currently facing a catastrophe

I just stumbled across this thread while looking through old SSpot threads and I can tell you everyone is acting like the fires were the end of the world.

Apart from smog and air-pollution, most Australians were chilling. Many got their towns burned and a lot of animals died but it was not a massive human catastrophe.
