At every point on the income distribution, Americans live shorter lives than the English

The average American has the same chance of a long and healthy life as someone born in the most deprived part of England, a place with the highest rates of relationship breakdown and some of the highest rates of antidepressant prescribing.

The craziest stat; One in 25 American five-year-olds today will not make it to their 40th birthday.

Yeah, I read this today. Far more Americans die before their 40th birthday than other developed countries (4% Vs ~1%).

The author put these stark differences due to gun violence, overdoses, and dangerous driving in the US.

The difference is kinda shocking tbh. Especially because the US is far more prosperous than the UK and Europe. Normally economic prosperity has a positive correlation with increased life expectancy.

How comes this forum is very pro USA but anti U.K.? When I’m reality according to the statistics living in the USA is worse than living in the U.K.

Obesity in adults
It's estimated that a little over 42% of American adults have obesity, while about 30.7% are overweight.

Everyday we inch closer to a utopian wall-e future, I for one welcome this evolution in the human species.

This is peak human performance, if you disagree you are a bigot.

Let the west make themselves a population of obese Mcdonalds loving crusty feet, quadruple chinned, cinnamon rolled fingers, thick thighs, beat titan looking ass

It will make the great conquest of the west much easier

I don't know if anyone has lived in both and can say for sure but- isn't UK more aggressive about pushing liberal ideology on people who live there?

I think I heard about a Muslim dad in UK who went to jail because he didn't want his kid to attend gay propaganda lessons in school. In the US if you oppose that kind of thing, I think people maybe might try to pressure you but if you're really serious I think they'll back down and basically leave you alone. In the US, I think it would be very easy for that dad to have avoided the gay indoctrination stuff for his son- but in the UK I think they put him in jail.

I think in the US you can get away with opposing liberal ideology but to me it seems like UK is way more aggressive about trying to force it on people. I think the US conservatives are way more right-wing than the UK conservatives and I don't like the Republicans but I think their serving as a counter-weight makes it easy to go against liberalism and get away with it, whereas to me it seems like UK would be hell for people who don't want to go along with liberal ideology.

Another thing is in UK I think they have hate speech laws. Here I think I can pretty much say whatever I want but if I go and just start saying whatever I want in UK, I think I could get arrested if for example I speak against jews or lgbt. or for example if I deny the Holocaust.

edit: I looked it up and to my understanding there is all kinds of stuff you can get arrested for saying in the UK.... this is why the idea of going to Europe is kind of terrifying to me.... I think in the US you can pretty much say what you want but in the UK you can get arrested for saying the wrong thing... I personally don't really believe in freedom of speech but I believe what sort of speech should be prohibited should be decided from an Islamic viewpoint, not by rabid SJWs

I think my health and life expectancy are fine... unlike you, unless you've changed your views, I am a Muslim and I am not interested in giving up my beliefs. I have no idea why you liberals are such busybodies.

Are you hallucinating or something the post is about life expectancy between the two countries. Why did you decide to go on a rant about liberalism?

It's because most Americans are fat. The healthcare system itself isn't really to blame

The quality of life in the US is better than the UK as long as you aren't one of the dregs of society. QOL in the UK has a high floor but low ceiling while the opposite is true in the States

Doesn't explain why so many Americans die before 40. Obesity will shorten life expectancy, but probably won't kill you before 40

Besides, Brits are the Americans of Europe for obesity lol

America is more unsafe for younger people, due to high gun violence, overdoses, and more dangerous driving

we're comparing the two countries, why do you care if I don't want to buy into the ideology they have in Europe
