Not surprised at all.

Many Asian countries are on the level with North America and Europe. The world economy revolves around them. It reflects positively on the Asians living in the US as well who are successful on the own.

This can't be said about a single Latin American or African country. While Japan, South Korea and China have become the forefront of the high tech world, the two most powerful African countries, Nigeria and Ethiopia, are still at the level of machete hacking its own citizens.

It will be hard to get rid of them socially and subconsciously, no one can tell the ethnicity of someone based off looks most of the time. Show me a white person and I have no clue what their ethnic origins may be. Racial groups and distinction, along with stereotypes, will take a long time to reverse.

Generally we can all kind of figure it out though by looking at someone ( east vs south Asian or west Asian , north vs Southern Europeans , east vs west African, hell even some natives look different ( South American natives vs North American natives )

Wouldn't that just make more racial distinctions under the guise of ethnicity? Instead of asian, we'll have south asian/east asian/central asian, all as race distinctions that come with their own cycle of stereotypes.

Maybe it's best if we try to think of people as individuals rather than a collective.
