Most people don’t even know what Zabiha is here even the ones that live in the masjid. The twitter OP is making it seem like Somalis aren’t eating Zabiha because they don’t care that it’s haram like Arabs when the truth is we don’t see it as haram. The sheikhs and everyone acknowledges it as permissible. UK somalis would do the same if they weren’t so influenced by other Muslims in that small ass country.

It’s associated with Shafis, look at the twitter comments, i don’t know if it’s even a popular opinion but it’s not just a few sheikhs, somalis and yemenis in America follow this same rule, I’ve even seen Malaysians saying the same. The position isn’t held by other madhabs.

nah we got regulations in the UK, you can the place they get there meat from. HFC is reliable but HMC is much more reliable .

[1] The Shafi`is stipulate that the Christian whose slaughtered meat is permissible to eat is someone who has an uninterrupted Christian lineage all the way back to pre-Islamic times. If the Christian is of non-Israelite descent, then this needs to be positively established (virtually impossible in our times). If the Christian is of Israelite descent, then the conditions are less stringent.
