Somalia seems to be slipping to chaos again with the election disruption going on in Mogadishu. What I find really confusing is that the international community is not going to support Somalia forever in this stalemate but Somalis think they can live in limbo forever. The U.N and other international partners are looking for a paradigm shift where Somalis have a political system that meets democracy, 1man 1 vote, central bank, impartial court system and armed forces that control its borders.

The international community has had enough of Somalia's bullshit. Either get you shit together or cease to exist.

International community loves the status quo. They need a weak but not too unstable somalia so that they can do whatever they want. They don't give a damn if we have no functioning governement as long as there are no security threats for them

How come Somaliland has achieved a framework were differences are not settle with the gun but through dialogue?

Because they are mostly from one qabil and even then they still have clan warfare amongst them every now and then.
On the other hand the south is more fragmented when it comes to qabil

Its not that straightforward saxib. Unfortunately far too many external actors benefit from the chaos in the South. Its easier for them to secure their cashflows when they have a weak and unstable pupper government in place.

When the Islamic Courts was introduced it was the first time people were being held accountable which dramatically improved the safety issues. They ended up being overthrown and replaced with Al-Shaydaan. The issue is not as black and white as perceived.
