I've read about the ancient Egyptians and how their rich and powerful were always fat. It would have something to do with their high carbon diet (bread and beer) and sedentary lifestyles (because they weren't poor farmers). I also think Somalis share common ancestors with the Egyptians and the genes of gaining weight easily was passed on to us as well.
