Are Somalis Cushitic speaking Nilotes?

So if we are Genetically +50% Nilotic, does that mean we are language-shifted Nilo-Saharans? :damsel::wowsweat:
Cushitic people are Nilo-Semitic, our Somali language is made of Proto-Nilotic and Proto-Semitic languages. We share linguistically and genetically with our Proto-Nilotic brothers and Natufian Brothers.

Your forefathers married some Nilote women and it’s not even the only maternal mix

55-60% of our ancestry is made of a population related to nilotics, you could say somalis/horners and nilotes are brotherly group.

@Hamzza what happened walaal, you seem to embrace your speak chucking african roots kkkkk
Nahh, Nilotic people are not fully Proto-Nilotic. Dinka have a highest Proto-Nilotic Nilotic tribe but still they’re 20% bantu. If you look at the bigger picture, Somalis are more Proto-Nilotic than Nilotic people. Because Natufians are closer to Proto-Nilotic than bantus

Once the Proto-Afro-Asiatic community is discovered or the Proto-Cushitic-Semitic-Berber group, Somalis and other Horners will likely HEAVILY descend from them. From looking at the earlier Cushite samples we have it's pretty obvious they're probably very close to what early AAs looked like with just more proto-Nilotic ancestry but the early AA groups likely carried some of this Proto-Nilotic as well. Another thing to consider is that it's obvious E-M35 like our own E-M78 descended E-Z813 are closely linked with early AAs and to this day Horner men in general are 60-80% drawn from M35 lineages like V32, V22, V6, M293 and several others. So, in essence, we are paternally still mostly descended from ancient AAs and given how heavily descended we still seem from ancient Cushites we'll probably seem heavily descended from early AAs too. A bit more than 50% at least. Arabians will likely also seem quite heavily descended from them.

Yes bro, we are Nilotic with a small West Eurasian admixture. The real question is, who imposed on us the Afroasiatic language we speak today?
You're trolling but I agree, there isn't THAT much difference, many Somalis look Nilote like and can be very dark skin and not all Nilotes have wide features either.

I think we have more similarities with them than Habeshas.

We most definitely don’t look more like nilotes than habeshas sxb. We have a much more similar genetic make up to xabashi anyway in comparison to Dinkas.

I get told I look habesha atleast once a month I’ve never once been told I look South Sudanese and I live in an area that has a decent bit of both. South sudos are great folk tho

I've been mistaken for North Sudanese but never Habesha, when I saw Sudan war on the news, their people look more much more like Somalis than Habeshas do.

The Semetic/Arab nose is valued in Somali qurux circles. Alhamdulilah I have one.
