I feel your pain. The south has rivers, if the government saves some taxes from its citizens they can also revitalize the greenery by turning saltwater to freshwater using Israeli methods.
North somalia did this. All our cattle, crops, and forestry would stop dying if we did this.
The government will never do anything because it only serves their qabiil only. Every few years, darood and hawiye exchange seats and presidency as if other clans dont exist! I gave up all hope khalas
I don't think this a conflict of interests with Qatar, they mainly export gas and whats being explored in Somalia is oil

Djibouti kicking out the UAE made the UAE invest in SL & Berbera port which is currently one of the most modern ports of Africa thanks to their investment.
Somalia also making enemies will Inshallah benefit me as well. The Turks are no threat to me as they don’t have disposable cash to spend like the Peninsular Arabs and are geographically faraway.Hopefully the Saudis see the light like their UAE brothers and start a pro-SL policy. It’s only natural for the Saudis to strengthen relations with us (history & geographic distance & trade) and I hope this Turkish Protecterate idea that Somalia has bent over for is what pushes the Saudis into our camp

And I hope saudis further antagonize Somalia. Turks sometimes aren’t even Muslim, but one thing that unites them is their hate for arabs. Qatar is currently keeping goodwill, but if other Arab nations poke that tree, it’ll unify Turkish foreign policy to strengthen Somalia as an anti Arab pro Turkish state. So even presidents after erdogan will keep this pro-Somalia and secessionist stance.

You got it wrong sxb.This meeting was chaired by Egypt who reset their relations with Turkey recently. This is an effort to reset the whole Arab-Turkey relations and nothing to do with us.
There was another meeting before this one chaired by the somali FM.

I don’t think it’s coincidence that they make a section of the meeting about turkey’s external influence on Arab nations right after our deal with them. You can interpret it as you wish, they don’t have to outright say Somalia.

It was held on the behest of EGYPT. The two countries almost came to a war when Turkey aided the Libyan gov. They have now reset their relations and even had Erdogan visit a Cairo a couple weeks ago. You got it all wrong broski. Ka soco.

I dont think Egypt is that stupid bro, remember Turkey is a NATO ally. War with them means Egypt goes to war with the western world.
If a NATO member is attacked in his country yes, not in the mediterranean sea in Libyas EEZ. Even worse, France is very anti Turkey especially as they were going against everything they tried in Libya.
The US got backed by every member after 9/11 but many countries said f off in the second Iraq war.
I don't think they will do anything. The funny thing is that the people of the Gulf call other countries failed, but they ignore their governments, which interfere with these countries so that they do not compete economically and politically and become a regional power.
I honestly wish I could take them seriously. Arab leaders thrive on the suffering of fellow Arabs, I don't know why us Somalis would want to be anywhere close to them knowing that. The Turks aren't our friends but they're at least respectful and are less likely to put a dagger in our back.
