What is the proper posh dialect of Arabic then? Like the British accent of the Arab world
It is the Syrian dialect, these Syrian have contributed a lot to this language, Damascus was the place where the alphabet and grammar was standardized, Gulf states import Syrian and Egyptian Arabic teachers to teach in their schools. The dialect is the closest to the modern standard Arabic

we must accept it :rejoice:

somali is a dying language. we should accept languages change and go extinct.

arabic will replace our Somali language and it has already started.

somali names are slowly going away. 10-15 percent of somali is Arabic. we use Arabic daily.

It will soon be time to accept our linguistic fate :rejoice::rejoice::rejoice::rejoice::rejoice::rejoice:

arabic is very underdeveloped, it’s spoken by 400 million and doesn’t have enough scientific jargon compared to for example Estonia. The reason why most Muslim nations lag behind is that.

The irony lool Amharic is a Semitic language it’s easier for an Amharic speaker to learn Arabic than it is for you. :dead:

That's not true at all. Phonetically it would be a greater challenge for an Amhara to learn Arabic than a Somali. Amharic has lost sounds like "kh", "xa" and "ca" and I've met many Ethiopians who try to learn Arabic, including one who's worked for my family for many years, and their accent is always way off and they struggle to learn the language phonetically. Somali also, hilariously, has more words outright in common with Arabic due to being very rich in Arabic loanwords whereas Amharic and Arabic mostly share cognates that are now very different in their overall sound. Not to mention that Somalis learn to read the Arabic script at a young age at Quranic schools (Dugsi) so learning to read Modern Standard Arabic is a complete non-issue whereas an Amhara would have to learn a whole new writing system. We have it way easier than them in a lot of ways.

One is not obliged into changing his cultural conduct, customs, etc. (under the condition that it's not immoral and prohibited under the ruling of Islam) when becoming a Muslim.

By your logic, an Arab bedioun Jahiil, who practices the wicked culture of mass enslavement and burying infant baby daughters, is closer to Allah (SWT) than the Muslim Turks, simply due linguistical ties. It's an illogical fallacy. Islam is much more than that (if that's what you're alluding to ).

Gonna end up like the Sudanese complaining about never being accepted and facing racisn
Not true. Most Somalis back home have a basic understanding of Arabic as its taught in schools and the alphabet (which is similar to ours) is taught in dugsi, so yeah Somalis aren't alien to Arabic. I know that you will debate this because you want to stay "100% AFRIKAN proud BLACK" but this is simple facts.
Your average Somali wax barasho muku juran. You niggas are delusional wallahi, your average Somali doesn't even know what the quran says when reciting it.

You are being ignorant. Once you finish the Quran you go to a higher dugsi where they teach you the fasiraad and hadiths in Somali.

For reals. Even growing up I remember my hooyo, aabo and ayeeyo reading the Qur'an frequently in Somali. They'd have these versions of it with the original Classical Arabic on one side and Somali text on the other. They knew what they were reading. And I've these sorts of copies around back home on visits there.

This. Certain words in the quran contain syriac loan words.

And who actually goes. Hell, ya lacagta uu haysta? What sort of stupid logic do you guys run on :heh:

Your average person in Somalia would look at you like you're an idiot if you spoke to them in Arabic

The Sudanese are a mix of slaves, Arabs and the inhabitants there. They're kind of forced to be Arab, we're not.

Poor attempt at a troll thread. It's so bait. I can see the OP has gotten lazy. There is no evidence for a language shift occurring any time in the near future. Those days are gone. And the probability of adoption of English in addition to Somali is more likely than Arabic replacing Somali.

Listen, guys, I'm Reer Xamar so I probably have more Arab blood in me than any of you lot and even I think that we shouldn't adopt Arabic.

We have our own language that is just as beautiful and poetic as Arabic, yes Arabic is a more blessed language because of the Noble Qur'an but the Nabi (SAW) an Arab himself said that an Arab is not superior to a non-Arab nor a non-Arab superior to an Arab.

Bearing all that in mind, we can keep our language and native culture and still live proudly.

Af somali is probably one of the most alive african languages and it will never be replaced by arabic.
Be proud of your language and don't advocate for arabic just because you are a "hooyo ma taalo" type of guy.
