The Carabs in Mahadaay come under the Ghiir ghiir which is a local confederacy in western M.Shabelle consisting of Small Somali lineages, Bantus and Arabs.I’m proud full geeljire calm your naaso down its question
im more interested in carab somali origin from shabelle regions if they are arabs or sheegato @convincation @Kheyre
The locals that I’ve spoken to usually separate the Carabs into two sections, one section is made up of the descendants of Carab men and Eylo Bantu mothers and the other are the Asal Carabs who only mix with local Somali tribes (Hawadle is known for mixing with them). Overall the latter actually look like Carabs as one of my cousins married one who to me looks more Yemeni than cadcads do.
I’ve also come across Arabs deep in the shabelle in a small town 12km north of Afgooye. These Arabs were Yemeni who spoke both Somali and Arabic and owned a lot of the local farmland along the river. If you were to see these people you would notice how out of place they look, they were pure big nosed Arabs smack in the middle of Al shabab African territory. I don’t know of their origins or what clan confederacy they come under though.
