i was considering living on campus for a year.

I have been going to a community college for the past 3 years just so I can take care of my general course work and some additional science courses.

For the past 3 years I have mostly just gone to school just to study and attend classes. I don’t really interact with other students that much. I did join the anime club once but it’s filled with a lot of weird people. Cool people but they were just uncomfortable to be around. I realized that day I vibe more with hood anime niggas than regular cadaan anime dudes . I did join the african club and the bio club but stopped attending meetings because of grades.

I’m not really having that much fun at school and this fall semester I am attending a university. I’m considering living on campus for atleast one year. I want to experience this fun college experience everyone is talking about. Feels like I was left out

@Factz @shabellegal @YourBroMoe @Sheikh did y’all live on campus?

I lived on campus. Trust me it’s the best way to experience it, especially as a freshman or sophomore.
How did you explain to your parents that you wanted to live on campus?
I assumed most religous ones would try to make their kids stay off campus cause of the drinking, parting and sex life on campus.

My dad don’t care as long as I don’t take loans. Whereas my mother use to work as a maid and worked In college dorms for a university back in the day so she knows what happens

Nope. Uni was 30 mins away from home, so I stayed home and enjoyed home cooked meals fam.

My parents are pretty Americanized so thankfully it wasn’t that difficult. They highly stressed for me to get a college education like they did. Since they were nervous about me being far away, I compromised by going to a local university.

End of the day, you are an adult. I know you want to please them but think about yourself too. Self growth and independence is skills you attain living in campus and a glimpse of the real world post-grad. Cause mom and dad won’t be there forever lmao.
