Anyone else have a desire to be at war?

It doesn't make sense, I know. i know that its not as glorious or extravagant... More of a small desire on my end. Part of the male experience I guess. :trumpsmirk:
It makes all the sense in the world, at least to me, bc your aims are obvious to me. You want to give your life meaning, and you especially want to prove yourself. You think warfare will do that for you, because that's the lense through which you view your sense of masculinity.

What I'm saying is war won't accomplish that for you, but you can always enlist if you're determined to.

I'm objecting to your misguided romanticism of war, but I've always maintained that military training is a great source of discipline, which is something you can use and will add value to your life.

It feels as if i haven't experienced true manhood when I haven't experienced a life or death situation battle before. :mjlol:
WAR IS HELL. PEACE IS LIFE.

“He saved me and his memory has never left my mind. In the early 1980s, my small unit was pinned down at the border town of Balanbale. A bullet pierced one of my legs, and I fell to the ground. The majority of my colleagues died except one: Warsame. Warsame was a young soldier who at that time was newly-wed. His wife was one of the prettiest girls in town, and he was very much in love with her, he never stopped boasting how lucky he was to have her. He was full of life and was a proper comedian. He even made our old timers laugh. I thought Warsame and I were going to die and I said my prayers. On the other hand, Warsame had other plans. He lifted me up and told me to run as fast as I can whilst he took a prone position and returned suppressive fire so that I could get away and live for another day. With a bullet lodged in my leg, I ran as hard as I could with excruciating pain and met the Somali oncoming backup. They tended my wounds and mounted a rescue operation for Warsame, who moments ago saved my life. When we returned, it was too late. I just didn’t understand. He was healthy, not wounded but yet sacrificed his young life so that I could live another day. That night, I wept like I never wept before. As a battle-hardened soldier, it broke me. War is hell; peace is life.”

(Balanbale)

“Wuu i badbaadiyey, xusuustiisana noloshayda kama baxayso waligeed. Waxay ahayd bilowgii 1980s markii Balanbale oo ah tuulo xadka ku taala la qabsady. Kooxdii aan ka tirsana oo aad u yaraa waa la jabiyey, xabad ba igaga dhacday lugaha kadib dhulkaan ku dhacay. Inta badan asaxaabtaydi waa dhinteen marka laga reebo Warsame Warsame oo ahaa askari aad u da’ayar isla markaana caruus ahaa, xaaskiisu waxay ahayd gabadha ugu quruxda badan magalaada aadna wuu u jeclaa. Wuuna ku faani jiray. Wuxuu ahaa nin dadka ka qosliya markasta wuxuu samayn jiray inuu naga qosliyo, waxaan u haystay aniga iyo Warsame in aanu dhimanayno, waan duceeyey. Warsame wuxuu laha qorshe kale, intuu sare I qaaday ayuu yiri, carar intii aad awoodi karto isaguna wuu I difaacayey intaas oo dhan, si aan u helo jid aan ku badbaado una nolaado maalin kale. Maadama xabad igaga dhacday lugaha, waan orday ilaa xad intii aan awoodi karayey anigoo xanuun dareemaya kadib waxaan la kulmay ciidan gurmad ah kuwaas oo i badbaadiyey. Warsame noloshayda ayuu badbaadiyey. Kadib markii aanu noqonay, wakhti danbe ahayd, waan ka so gaari weyney. Maan fahansanayn taas. Wuu caafimaad qabay wiil dhalinyaro ayuu ahaa, muu dhawacmin laakiin noloshiisi wuuxu khatar taas u galiyey si uu aniga I badbaadiyo, Habeenkaas waxaan u ooyey si anaan weligay u ooyin. Colaad waa lagu dhintaa: nabad waa lagu dhaqmaa.”

No lool. I have "meaning" in my life whatever that means. I do romanticise war to an extent though. I just like the idea of testing my mettle in war situations. Im quite content with my life.

a war against the enemies of Somalia and not fire a single bullet is what i desire. However, even Sun Tzu found no pleasure in war, especially for no real reason.

No. What's so masculine about firing a gun from 400m away? Women are just as competent as men in modern warfare.

Wallahi you will only find out what sort of cloth you're cut from only when faced with a life and death situation.

That's not true. Everyone around you more or less knows what sort of cloth you're cut from even without your ever having experienced a single life or death situation.

Are you drunk?

Join the Airforce, maybe that way they'll teach you discipline (you need), and you can gain something from it without getting yourself killed or suffering from a lifetime of PTSD. If you're gonna be a pawn, you should at least go about it the smart way. Granted, I know someone who was in intelligence and still suffers from some mental instability, but he was at risk to begin with

lool I was drunk. Its not serious. I don't need the discipline :mjlol:. I know how perilous and detrimental to health war can be. Wanting to experience war is parcel of the male experience. Or rather the need is subconsciously fed to us idk.

Nah, that's BS. I'm certain the reasons I stated earlier are closest to the truth.

The same way I was right about your being drunk att you wrote that, I'm also right about your needing discipline:mjohreally:

My tendency to be right is almost as if my word should be taken as gospel, just so you know
