History is best told by a great story teller, I’ve had this gripe with the education system for quite some time now; as schools teach children to hate history, it’s taught in a black or white perspective. Filled with boring dates and facts that they are forced to remember just to pass the class, I’ve had many adults tell me they found history boring as a child but yet found to enjoy it.How can anyone like history in general?

The education system was not created to drum context or to entertain but rather passing arbitrary tests on memory rather than anything else; who could possibly find plain facts interesting? Controversial and exciting incidents create interest, not random dates jumbled together. Of course there’s also a point in being made that it’s not just parochialism that constricts interest but there’s also the main factor which is that most people just generally don’t like reading; a quarter of the U.S. adult population saying that they haven’t read a book or even listened to an audio book in over a year. When was the last time you read a book?
Extra: apologies for the rant, I sometimes get carried away when I write
I also felt the same, I remember growing tired of hearing the name Hitler and Europe. It’s said that people won’t really be interested in something they can’t relate to and to some extent that’s true, have you ever tried brushing up on history that piqued your interest. For example I was always interested in ancient history, particularly the Bronze Age period and the falls of civilization during that time. It’s alright to find it boring but maybe try to reach out to something that isn’t shitty world wars due to European powers. If you don’t mind me asking what type of books do you read; A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) took inspiration from the real life war of the roses most of his characters carrying direct traits of their real life counter parts. I find maths pretty boring and it wasn’t just because I was awful at it so I guess it’s very subjective.I always read books. Everytime. But reading books and listening/learning about history are two different things. Back in my school days, all we had to learn about was Hitler and the Nazis. That’s about it. Hence why I said history is boring.
Like Sid Meier Civilization, Age of Empires, or Europa Universalis?
