Nah This is mental gymnastics. The man hates and looks down on Somalis, their language and culture and you call it pride? The fact that she didn't protest his racist rule made it clear. They could have just agreed to have Arabic as the dominant language and have the mother teach her daughter some Somali at least but to ban the language completely? Also notice how her English is impeccable... Clearly he had 0 qualms about his daughter learning English( the language of the British that colonized and enslaved his sabean people) potentially "diluting" her Arabic but draws the line on Somali. He looks down on Somalis and is offended his daughter would learn what he believes is "African gibberish"

I had to skip Nursery and two years of school to be homeschooled with Arabic when I started school I didn't know English I was speaking in Arabic and writing in gibberish. The reason why he banned Somali is because he thought it would affect my Arabic when there has been studies that learning two languages at home doesn't ruin the other language speaking ability, you lot are making it a race issue but he is dark like Somalis if anything it's kinda xenophobia (also it makes sense because my dad doesn't speak Somali however my mom speaks Arabic)

Islam values truth in lineage, not erasing your mother’s identity. As long as a person isn’t denying their biological father, there’s no kufr or shirk in identifying with their mother’s culture or side of the family.

I feel him. If my children were half Arab, were very light skinned, didnt look Somali at all, and then stated claiming to be Arabs then I would be upset too. But thats why i wouldnt marry an arab in the first place.
