It is way more better now. You have to understand TPLF was playing one ethnicity against the other for over 27 years and in some communities there are also historical enmity based on land dispute etc. Ethiopia is a huge country and community clash occurred always. What is different now is that it is instantly online and we became part of it. The state can't protect every citizen in that vast country. That is impossible. But overall the clashes are way more fewer and less deadly. Remember we used to have millions of displaced people. Now we are talking about few people.
