Just booked my accommodation in xamar. Am from xamar and we got a lot of houses and family there but am hella scared about my safety walking around the streets so I booked an accommodation am that paranoid and literally stressed about safety. Should I even go? Am a local who is paying for accommodation premium at elsewhere make it make sense please but I just don't even trust living in the same houses as my families due to the security fragile in xamar am also scared doing touristy stuff like hanging out liddo, dinning out could potentially be me subconsciously walking into qarax. Is this feeling OK or do I just love life too much and holding on to dear life too tight?

I never been to xamar, I’m a hargeisa through and through (Even though mans born and bred in London innit) I suggest you stay away from where politicians reside or visit, due to al Shabaab targeting them etc, you don’t want to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, that happed to Hodan Nalayeh AUN.
Stay away from the politician's usual hang out spots? Easier said than done when it's obviously the locals that are often all too well cought up in this as much precautions as they could take. I can't see myself going to hargeysa no offence but I got a thick southern accent that will make me susceptible to racism and attacks in hargeysa. Hargeysa nor bosaso nor lascanood I don't feel safe in those areas.
Hargeysa is boring I would rather be in Djibouti
Hargeisa welcomes any Somali, it’s diverse in terms of qabil etc, as long as you don’t carry the Somali flag etc you should be fine. Way safer than Mogadishu, you can walk at night in hargeisa no problems.
