Does puntland even hand out visas? How are they supposed to differentiate illegal immigrants from legal ones?It is pure laziness. I have personally seen 20 in one week! But they want us to believe the police or telecom companies don't see them.

Nope. Even the ones who do sheegad can be easily identified as oromos. I remember some oromo was being questioned by a cop in suuqa weyn ee Garowe, and a crowd of bystanders had formed, he was asked where he hailed from, he said he was Cabdi ciise cumar maxamuud from burtinle and the whole crowd burst into laughterTheir population is big enough. The reason why they don't look their size is because they shegotise galbeed and local clans.

I go back and forth to Somalia, specifically Puntland and have spoken a few times about the Oromo problem. The newest angle is to send their women and children to the streets holding up cards with phone numbers. They all claim to be Somali, specifically sheegotising local clans.
Telecom Companies give out SIM cards to ANYONE.
The real root cause, are the telecom companies who freely give phone numbers and bank accounts to illegals.. If I, your average shacab, can detect numerous illegal frauds and possible SPIES, why can't they? The truth is, they value money over national security. What's more, the local Government is not happy with these telecommunication companies, as they are the real breach.
These telecom companies & the lack of immigration police, is why Somalis will come to blows with Oromos and Ethiopians in the near future. There are people on here, who always come running in, to defend the so-called governments to downplay the real threat of Ethiopia's infiltration and population replacement agenda. Waa beentooda, there is ZERO agenda and incentive to do the right thing.
Jobs held by Ethiopian larpers
The 'waiters' in Somalia, tend to claim to be from 'Galbeed', I don't believe a word of it. I believe they are possible Ethiopians, specifically Oromo. In fact, not long ago, I caught a few waiters talking to each other in Af-Oromo at a hotel.
Oromo beef with the Qabiil system
Also, there is an agenda to get rid of the qabiil system in Somalia, to enable Ethiopia's infiltration. Qabiil is not the problem, qabyaalad is. And it's the qabiil system/MAG system that will save Somalis. They have learned our language and clan names, but if a real test is done to determine their identity, they will fail. That's why they are online, trying to eradicate our traditional guard rails.
YOUR ROLE?
Please raise the alarms, speak to your elders, MPs etc. These telecom companies need to be held accountable, if it wasn't for them, these interlopers would find it very difficult to operate in Somalia.

Those are headed to Yemen and further afield. Oromos are transmigratory people in the somali context, very few of them ever settle and thereβs hell to pay if they do.Garowe! I also saw them strolling on the highway between Nugaal and Bari, the past few years. Young men mostly, walking like they have no fear at all. They know they will not be apprehended.
Do they actually move on to the Arabian Peninsula? I've heard they use that as an excuse to settle in coastal cities like Berbera and Bosaso. Those are headed to Yemen and further afield. If we stop them, we put the fishermen of bosaso out of pocket, itβs a side hustle and good for the coastal economy of bosaso.
Yeah, the flow is constant, the people taking the brunt of the Ethiopian wave be it Oromo or Amhara are the Yemenis, just the other day thereβs been news emerging out of Yemen that there are armed Ethiopian militiamen engaged in banditry and murder along the Sanaa-Aden road. In PL they canβt even purchase a small kitchen knife let alone guns.Do they actually move on to the Arabian Peninsula? Iβm still confused what the idea here is though. To start with, Oromo literally walk into Somalia, they are on the roads, walking one behind the other like soldiers. They are easily identifiable on first entry. The trouble is when they start to get phone numbers, which is how the telecom companies betray our national integrity.

Because aside from the just crossing the border on foot, what other means do they have to enter Somalia?
Or are we saying close the borders and deport any non-Somali?
In the telecom companies defence, how can they differentiate an Oromo that just βwalked across the borderβ and an Oromo that immigrated there legally? Because you are just saying that Somali telecom companies should just discriminate based on ethnicity and refuse service to Oromos.
until the government actually keeps a registry of legal residents and actually opens up avenues for immigration and naturalization, how is this anyone elseβs fault?

This thread is built on a misconception, which is that oromos who learn the Somali language are easily able to blend in, thatβs not the case.

There are almost no customs along the giant Somali-ethio border. One of the largest shared borders in Africa and if they do exist they are A, hard to find or B, require you to go way out of your way and/or C, probably corrupt and disjointed from the federal government anyways lol.Legal migrants go through customs, airports etc they don't hop over the border!
How? There are quite literally thousands of Somalis living in and born in Somali soil who donβt have a legal identification themselves. So how on earth can you expect an immigrant to reasonably have one?Of course they can differentiate. There are ways to check who is in Somalia legally or illegally.

Airports make no sense, why would I take a plane when I can just take a 8 hour car ride? Much cheaper and way more convenient. Especially since most people immigrating probably donβt even live near an airport. To expect people to go to addis to fly to garowe when they are like 5 hours from garowe by car is a bit unreasonable.

do you even know how many kids are born in baadiye and tuulos every day that live their whole lives without ever getting documented? Hell even children born in cities in hospitals will live their whole lives without documents.
we literally donβt even have an accurate population of our people. Let alone keep track of all legal and illegal immigrants.
I mean I get your point, my issue is that Somalia has so many more issues that should be at the forefront and immigration βin my opinionβ is at the lower end of the totem pole. That is not out problem as Somalis. I don't care if Ethiopians have it hard to access our soil.
That is a problem for illegal Oromos to handle themselves.
Maxaa naga galay if Ethiopians do not have paperwork? Do you think they even ask themselves such questions when Somalis enter Ethiopia??
Somalia can keep track of illegals. You underestimate how lazy local police and govt are.
How come I can spot them a mile away, but not the local authorities??? And the telecom companies can easily shut down phone numbers on cardboard signs.
