Motivated Soldiers/Macawiisley can fight for a month or two without pay. If there is no pay for more than a handful of months, morale collapses and you will begin to see losses. The FGS had budget of ~$1 billion last year, how hard can it be to pay each man $150 a month?

Culusow has more than enough money for that, but he has bigger priorities. Like spending millions trying to buy Puntland's presidency and jetting around the world. He is a former NGO worker who does not understand what it means to be president.

Wallahi I am starting to believe the people that were saying the end goal in Somalia is to handover villa Somalia on a plate to Al Shabaab.
HAG mentality was always anti Goverment since 90s, they like to have Talibaan style, from Alitaxaad and ICU, Hizbul and last Alkabaab.

Even you can see how they let Alkabaab members join goverment.

In Puntland, anyone been accuse by judge and been gulity will killed.

No one in Somalia will die for their country but they'll die for a paycheque or for their clan. They'll die for Al Shabab. There's no such thing as Somalia. It's just borders on a drawn map. Something you'll notice about Somalis is that it's not common to see a Somalia flag in their house or Somalia art. 99% of them don't even have a gambar. They don't have any feeling of Somalia in them. Only their clan, clan state, and Islam.
The SNA is completely incapable of counter-insurgent warfare you’d think this was an army of foreign occupiers by how they almost always fight on main roads/cities.

Clan militias and religous militants are on the other hand willing to fight for 0.5 sqkm of infertile desert that isnt connected by main road.

1 billion and his focus is entirely on Galmudug/Middle Shabelle. Even with the arms embargo a paramilitary the size of liyu with basic arms should be able to remove some few thousand militants in the waterless, flat, and treeless GM.

The Somali parliament is so incompetent they elected a Buffalo civil servant and a former teacher back to back to back whilst AS is on their doorstep waiting for foreign withdrawal. In the coming years they will focus on revising a provisional constitution and re-election even though they arent capable of enforcing it anywhere and there is no real judicial branch capable of deciding its interpretation leading to presidents just making new laws that contradict the dastuur like Farmajos parliament - president extension farce.
