Africans and Somalis

I've been to Kenya, its worse than London. Its the only place I would trade London for
I lived there and I still visit sometimes (no more from now on tho)
I only feel close to somalis ngl I have nothing to do with any other ethnicity, I will say I have a lil favourism for countries who border us and since I lived in Kenya I can (horribly) speak the language and we have a few minor cultural similaries.
I have nothing to do with an Algerian

ps: where did you go in Kenya?!! I liked Kenya

I’m friends with lots of non horner african, but I don’t think I have to be friends with them just because we’re from the same continent. We’re very different and that’s fine.

Have your family not lived in Kenya for generations? You feel closer to an Algerian than a Kenyan muslim who you you understand the language and culture of his?Weird.
I wasn't saying that based on a personal level,it was on a societal level because she asked why Somalis kept to themselves.

I have a lot of non-Somali friends and I didn't mention whether they were muslim or not.Ofcourse I would feel closer to a muslim Kenyan than an Algerian. One of my bestfriends was a musl8m Kenyan.I was talking about it in a general sense and not a personal one.

I stayed in Eastleigh mostly but I was in Nairobi. The smell of the road is unforgettable, I remember the moment I came out of the airport the smell that hit me.
Also, there just Madows everywhere so obviously that made things worse and I didn't know I was racist back than and only realised after sometime why the place bothered me:damedamn:

I went to this company the other day and the manager working there was a Somali (didn't know beforehand).

He immediately asked if I was Somali and I got top class customer service. :friendhug::lawd:

When I go to other African owned shops/establishments I get this: Dis nigga, buy or get out. :susp::fredo:
Man I wish I met more nepotistic Somalis willing to help me out:mjcry:

Eastleigh is alot better than living with Madow. I don't care I built up there places may be tbh:nahgirl:
The richer areas are much better. It doesn't bother me much cause it's not what I focus on when moving in to a place. If a place has a mosque and gives off a Islamic type of vibe then I'm good to go

I think it’s mostly to do with religion. Kenya is majority Christian. If it was a Muslim country I’m 100% sure we wouldn’t feel closer to Algerians rather than Kenyans who border us.

I love somali nepotism!! I even had a part time job because of it
Where I live doesn’t have many black people so I get a lil nepotism from other Africans now because they’re hardly any Africans where I live (<1% of the population). When there’s a more significant african population, that’s when people tend to start differentiating but for now any african person is just like you

The Madow are not very friendly especially if they're in a position of power

@beenleey @Samaalic Era Why do Somalis like living in ghettos? You would think that we would be cleaner because we're Muslims or are Somalis only Muslim by name(which I highly suspect):cosbyhmm:

I usually enter Eastleigh with the dua for entering the toilet.

In the west it’s because lots of Somalis are poor/working class and can’t afford to live in nice western areas so they to live in ghettos
Eastleigh tho?? A lot of families there could definitely afford to move out but I think somalis are just drawn to other Somalis. For example my mum hates Eastleigh and never wanted to move there but my grandma refused and said she’d never leave Eastleigh since that’s where the Somalis are and she didn’t want to be removed from the community. A lot of my neighbours (80% of them) in the estate where all from the diaspora who had to live in Eastleigh for the same reason (they want to live around Somalis)
