Yes, it really is killing a baby. They have to own up to their stupidity. Abortion is haram except for special circumstances.. having an illegitimate child at a young isn't considered one of them.
Like mentioned above abortion is permitted when the fetus endangers the life of the mother or if the fetus has already died in the womb (in this case explosion of the fetus is needed).there could be more exceptions but I'm not very well versed in this topic, if I've said something wrong correct me-misinforming you was not my intention.

He should've thought about that before having pre-marital relations (& especially without protection). He shouldn't even be doing stuff like that at 16 y/o and he proved the reason why: teens that young are incapable of handling the potential responsibility/consequences that follow such actions.
