Orthodox Christianity of the Coptic/African variant would’ve been the main religion of Somalis if Islam wasn’t accepted by all Somalis in the past.

Not long ago, the Ethiopian Orthodox Church was subordinate to the Egyptian/Coptic Church, but I think they still recognise the Coptic pope as the head of all African Christians (well at least that’s what the Coptic pope claims to preside over).

It’s not Egyptian Christianity. The Tiktok post is somewhat misleading. Copts are an ethnic group in Egypt that have traditionally followed Oriental Orthodoxy (Practiced in Egypt, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Armenia and various Middle Eastern countries). The Oriental Orthodox Church is split into autocephalous regional churches. These churches have their own autonomy so that they can serve their congregations in their own language but they still believe the same things theologically.
