Yea, if you have access to the Turkish market you basically have access to the EU market. If Somalis played smart they could have access to the biggest market in world

There is NO proven oil reserves in Somalia, those how speculate and foresee oil boom in Somalia are overly optimistic and naive usually driven by conspiracy theories.

Bruv its economically wiser exporting to the Middle East specially SA, loosing this market will severely damage our already crappy economy, where are we gonna get half a billion dollar customer so quickly.
What's happening here is that we're loosing a market that was ours to our African neighbors who were always eager to enter the Middle East market.
Those sand niggaz are the only fukers splashing money around, try exporting to the EU or broke ass Asia and see the end result.
Ethiopia was planning for past 2 years to steal Somali clients and business, especially the Saudi markets. First step was banning Somali livestock, which happened because of dirty trick (corrupted employee in Mogadishu port) who added sick animals among the healthy stock. They used the Somali region. If you listened to PM of Ethiopia 'S meeting go universal TV you would know their plans for the region.
we do face Asia, there is the Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, much more, we should trade with countries with minimal Arab influence. You should never shit where you eat and in this case don't trade with nations that don't follow your foreign policy.
Ethiopia will go after them also, you don't get they are controlling north through these fake regional governors.
I don't think Asia is an option, because they're looking for new markets to export their products to. They hardly import stuff and EU is out of our league, we would never fulfill their safety requirements. Somalia has a one of a kind relationship with Turkey, a meat loving nation of 80+ million and above all an EUCU member. Instead of seeing them as a cash cow, why not foster economic ties? They can begin with smaller, less risky products like the Myrrh and fruits, and move their way up to the meat market.
The sand always pull these kind of shenanigans. They will put an embargo on our livestock, only to lift it few weeks before Hajj. In order for other African nation to compete with our livestock, they will need a lot of investment pumped into their cattle. Ours cattle growth is quite natural and organic, and not artificial. It is a sad development for the average nomad.
What you are thinking about is the Amhara highlands where thousands of years of agriculture has totally eroded the plateau. Most of Oromia and SNNP is undulating hill-land that is perfectly good for growing animals.
