Does Somali-Bantus in the US mix with ethnic Somalis or do they live in their own separate community elsewhere? I've always wondered, since most diaspora Somali-Bantus are concentrated in the US.
We mostly live together and they’re not called Somali bantu but jrweyne. They’re Somali in everything but abtirsi.
We don’t. Besides a few places, Somalis do not live amongst them nor are they Somali.

Nationality ≠ ethnicity, Somalis living in Europe with citizenship are not European. I have never met an elderly Somali who views them as Somali. Especially considering how users on here repeat that you need a Somali father to be Somali lol.

Apart from few housing projects dominated by somali bantu in Columbus most of them live with other Americans/migrants in every state they don’t have their own neighborhood. Only 1 or 2 places have somali dominated neighborhoods in the whole states, Columbus and Minneapolis.

They’re Somali on everything but abtirsi is what I said. Are users on here chronically unable to read? Yes most of them aren’t actual Somalis ethnically but they are culturally Somali.

We got a lot of them in my town. They do not mix with other Somalis. They remain bitter and suspicious about other Somalis.
Their children have assimilated into the madoow-Mareykanka culture. They speak like them. Dress like them and dembi galaan like them.

It depends on where you’re from. If you’re from Xamar or Merca and Afgoye you’re going to say they’re Somali as well. At the end of that day, that community have been though a lot and have been mistreated heavily by the ethnic Somali community. There is no reason to take their Somalinimo away from them. Do I think they’re ethnic Somalis? No but they’re still nationally Somali and have cultural ties to Somalia.
A lot of jweyne are mixed with somalis. Those Mushungulis be looking like lamagoodles. And most Somalis in Maine are ethnic Somali but there’s a lot of Jweyne.
You refugees need to stop hating on them. They live among Other somalis in America. Especially in states with smaller somali populations. There’s a lot in Ohio but barely any in Minnesota. Jweyne and cadcads are a minority And they didn’t leave in mass like the lamagoodles. I dont want to see another useless are they somali conversation on here, they are not comparable to refugees in Europe.
