I have many Indian colleague truckers who run from Cali to Ohio picking up produce for Kroger, just one way load pays 10k,so two brothers, two friends or wife and husband run team for just one year on the road, stack up 200k and put it down as a downpayment of Motel 6, Super 8 etc and live, work in there while paying it off.:yacadiim:

Somewhere along the way the U.S. became a nation of truck drivers

A truck-driving nation
MADRID (MarketWatch) — Most of America is making a living on eighteen wheels.

That’s what research conducted by National Public Radio, which recently mapped out the most common jobs in each U.S. state, has revealed. And as of last year, in a majority of states, truck driving is the most popular job category. The NPR interactive map shows how the landscape for employment has changed across the nation from 1978, when farmers, secretaries and machine operators ruled the roost, to 2014, when truck driving emerged as No. 1.

By 1996, in fact, truck driving had become the most popular occupation across 29 states. The NPR map shows that while in the late 1970s, secretarial work was far more common than truck driving, the typing pool dwindled by the mid-1990s. Here’s NPR’s full examination of the data.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has predicted that employment of truck drivers will grow 11% from 2012 to 2022. “Job prospects for heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers with the proper training are projected to be favorable,” said the BLS. But before you sign up for truck-driving classes, read the rest of that paragraph: “Because of truck drivers’ difficult lifestyle and time spent away from home, many companies have trouble finding and retaining qualified long-haul drivers.”

How come both of them have the same name and always whine about Somali men while projecting dusty Halimos as victims of Farah aggression, Eedo it is hard to believe they are not the same person.

@Angelina is dhulbahante and the Youtube one is Half Mj & Half Isaaq

Their spirit is totally different. I read spirits

I never understood people who made fun of truck drivers. My brothers own their own trucks and make $$$. If you work hard enough, you’ll earn enough money to buy your truck, buy other trucks, get more drivers, and then you have your own mid size LLC.

The only group I condone making fun of is bum ass dudes who lay around doing nothing.

Very lucrative field. As a woman though, I would never trust a truck driver for a husband… it’s just one of those fields where they have a disproportionately higher number of cheaters.

Same for police officers, Airport workers, or any man that works in a warehouse.

Truck driver who own and operate there own truck gross between $25-35k a month and net between $15-25k a month. Thats assuming you own your truck outright.

the money is good..and you can avoid paying taxes too.. however it’s not an easy job and it’s not for everyone.. to make that kind of money you will have to drive 50-60 hours a week and live out of a truck. These guys earn that money.

if you hustle and invest your money well..you ll do pretty good for yourself..much better than 95% corporate slave

exaggerated!

The best amongst them make $8k a month. However, once that dam truck breaks you’ll have to cough up $20k.
Right now the trucking business is less lucrative because of the high diesel prices. Therefore, a trucker is averaging $5k.

Trucking also takes a toll on your over all health. Somali truckers are riddled with diseases from eating fast food and junk food.

This is the constant stress of truck driving, if it breaks down ur screwed

Speaking of truck driving I have been offered the training for free. I work for a company that deals with truck driving and for years I been doing their administrative work and route planning. Then my manager was like the company is offering courses would you be interested

I said yes, but I have no interest in driving a truck. Just think the license could be useful one day and it’s free anyway
