I think that is just partly projection, partly a twisted fantasy they have about you. For a group men living the liberal West with all the access to sex and ography they're more deprived than any other group as far as I have noticed.

I guess it depends on how much empathy a person haves and wether the alternative party advances some of their interest. I by example vote for left-leaning parties even though they cost me economically but because they advance tolerance and better conditions for the citizenry I feel it is a worthy compromise, but those nuances are difficult to comprehend if your world view is contained to your own tribe or color group.
