What a crazy stat. 600,000 Tigrayans died of hunger and disease alone. Not even those fighting.

Ethiopia under TPLF rule slaughtered thousand of Somalis in and outside Galbleed.I know that you don't actually mean this
The loss of Galbeed isn't enough to take away your humanity, akhi

Ethiopia under TPLF rule slaughtered thousand of Somalis in and outside Galbleed.
TPLF bastard hid a cholera outbreak in Galbleed to avoid international press reporting it or human rights violations that happened on a daily basis.
I was explaining why most Somalis are just indifferent to Tigrayian plight. You're right and most people would concur with you in that regard. But this is specifically related to the civilian deaths and not TPLF, as a result of the war. Anyone with a rational mind, would feel sympathy for the horrible atrocities civilians have been through.
On the flip side, most Tigrayans STILL support TPLF today despite everything they've done. And most of them I seen/heard online and irl, would even go as far as defend Meles Zenawi and TPLF/EPRDF, despite the suffering they caused to Somalis and other Ethiopians. Including neighbouring countries, in the wars/invasion of Eritrea and Somalia.
So, it's a tough seat to be in.![]()

Somalis did help and support the Tigray cause in the 70s/80s and we know how that ended.
all this doesn't apply to the innocent Tigrayian Muslim though.
Alex De Waal is a credible source. He's written a book literally called Famine crimes. I'm looking at it strictly as a stat. At least 10% of Tigrayans died in 2 years and Abiy still holds a Nobel Prize.I sometimes doubt these horrific figures; the casualty figures of the DRC war were recently reduced by half, so I think it will take time before we really know just how many people have really died in Ethiopia's civil war.
I think it is credible as well. I'm certain the figure is higher given how it ended. The Tigrayans accepted peace, there must not be many of them left. This was a genocide. From what I've heard and gathered of different sources, the "estimated" figures stands somewhere between 600.000-1.200.000, if you include all types of fatalities from the war altogether. As there have been massive death of fighters, on all sides. From people I know who have crossed these "captured" roads (and seen countless corpses everywhere) and the footages online, it's in the hundreds of thousands.
This region was practically sealed off, from the outside world and barely anything was coming in and out. You can imagine the how people were suffering. So the figure of 600k of "indirect" war victims, isn't far fetched. Though, I do think it's broad to certain extent and include deaths of other causes too.

Jan Nyssen's assessment that so far there are between 150,000 and 200,000 starvation deaths, 50,000 to 100,000 victims of direct killings, and more than 150,000 additional deaths due to lack of health care.I think it is credible as well. I'm certain the figure is higher given how it ended. The Tigrayans accepted peace, there must not be many of them left. This was a genocide.
Somalia gave their leaders asylum in Mogadishu and TPLF paid somalis back by invading and brutally occupying Mogadishu. this goes beyond geopolitics.Oh, I see.

When geopolitics & humanitarianism are intermingled, it do get tricky at times.

They deserve all the punishments they received
The Somali curse will continue to haunt them forever
under Meles Zenawi they had a chance to be independent from Ethiopia and allow Somali Galbeed to secede peacefully but they instead massacred our people and invaded Somalia in retaliation
