This is what im refrencing wrt to the arab leaders. Their position as leaders is far from guranteed, everyone knows this after the arab spring and its why saudi arabia got so concerned about the arab spring that they blockaded Qatar for fanning the revolutions through al jazeera.

Most of these families have ruled for less than 100yrs, 3 generations max. Their militaries are mediocore. The legitimacy that gives the royal families the throne is fragile and the geopolitical actors (usa, isr, china, gulf states) they know this. Its why they dump so much resources into depoliticizing their populations
