NGL, it’s hardly surprising if you’ve seen that Somali traveler’s video.
India was probably the only South Asian country he disliked. He visited Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc., and didn’t experience the same kind of treatment but in India, they were openly racist toward him.
You’re also right there’s this trend where a bunch of white YouTubers or travelers visit impoverished areas and frame them negatively. But what’s wild is that even this same guy went to India before and showed nothing but love. Then he turns around and does a 180, making a completely opposite video later on clearly for views.
That said, I don’t think it’s fair to generalize all Indians. Especially not when female Indian travelers have been showing Somalia and Mogadishu in a positive light.

But when she went to Nigeria after going to Somaliland @Barkhadle1520 her belief about Africa changed and started dragging them because of the scams and frauds she witnessed which made her very bitter and resentful
180 shift in energy, went from ''This Is Real Africa, Kindness, Happiness and Love" after travelling to Somaliland to talking about Tribal racism , beggars and scams when she went to Nigeria.

The name DarSalaam fits because its meant to be a place where locals get away to and visit with their families. It is the largest one.
But there is a bunch of smaller garden village parks like that scattered around Mogadishu

Similar to muqdisho, darusalaam was once one of the titles/names of Xamar. 1k+ years before the Tanzanian city of Dar es Salaam was even founded.
Now, for Baghdad or Basra in Balcad, it’s obviously they were named after the cities in Iraq.
Basra’s real/local name is Jeex-shan.

Imagine thinking Indians are the weakest people in the world. They're literally xasuuqing all their neighbours as we speak lol. They also historically have only been conquered by some of the mightiest people to exist, tho many more have tried. You think some blackpill edit about Indian bodybuilding genetics and clavicles undoes 2000 years of their historical superiority over basically every African?
This dude is the worst thing that could happen to Mogadishu. He has no idea how to present the capital, no personality, no taste. He takes people to the most hideous places.
When you go to other African countries, you get taken into the forest to see proper animals in their natural habitat but in here you get taken to a run down zoo in Darusalam. Every time I see someone record the animals there, I swear it could easily be an ad for an abused animal charity.
Then he takes them on some meaningless boat ride out to the ocean and back. At least go fishing or something, for ffs
Imagine a tourist comes to your country, and you take them to a pizza shop. This dumbass should be arrested and banned. I honestly wish I had connections to someone who could enforce a licensing system for tour guides. Idiots like this should be nowhere near the industry. He's hurting the country and none of these tourist will return.
You're supposed to give tourists a unique experience of Somali culture and our way of life. I wouldn't be surprised if that Indian guy felt right at home. He literally got a tour of another part of Mumbai.
