I am from SL, so fighting is not an option atm. Still i agree with you, we should all rebuild our home land, especially the men amongst us. I will inshaAllah provide jobs, education and lectures for our people back home, that should be manly enough for you. The question for you now is: Will you become my submissive housewife in the struggle to make our country a better place @Knowles or do you prefer being a feminist in Europe ?

So because I have no interest to "fight" for country my home life should be an unstable, chaotic mess? How does that make any sense?
I like first world stability and luxury that it provides me. I also love that my job is not to fix a mess that happened more then two decades ago and instead get to keep progressing for my own benefit and people close to me.
Even white women take up their traditional role even though they been fighting for years.
I like to be in a position to benefit. Thats really nice.

I don’t respect any abled man who fled his country, cowers behind the white man and demands to be respected.
Somali men like traditional gender roles but many of them go back to Somalia to take advantage of poor women and marry them, impregnate them and ditch them with the kids. Their support extends to a hawala payment every month. In a traditional gender role, they would stay and fight for their family, they would sign up to the army and fight Shabaab and whatever else may hurt them. They would also plough the fields or rear livestock but instead they sit their asses in coffee shops.
Therefore Somali women do not need to abide by traditional gender roles if the men do not.
Well I mean I wasn’t even a foetus at that point. So do I get respect?

I thought it was order the bride thing, not leave them there and give them a monthly payment. I'm not s selfless person and I do things if I see no benefit. You always find out new ways how messed up the community is.
I was not born in Somalia, I'm not going back to Somalia and those are not my people. My people are in the West now and I have a sewage pipe connected to my porcelain toilet.

Firstly, it's not logic but a non-sequitur.
Secondly, there is no objective and universal standard of "traditional values" that has been officially codified.
Thirdly, Somalia is unsalvageable wasteland. End of discussion. You wouldn't be fighting to save anything.
Lastly, traditional values is not a discrete concept. It's a spectrum and certain aspects of it are discarded with time. Wouldn't you agree it's ridiculous for a xalimo to not expect a traditional marriage because she did not undergo FGM? It's an extreme analogy but it's a strong one, no doubt.
