Islam is similar to their religion and gave you too three options in such a case; ‘get compensation, forgive the person or let them be prosecuted and be punished’. Only special people would opt for the second option. How could Somalis who were killing one another for clan rivalries & view forgiveness as weakness and capitulation understand it?

Yes, it is cold blood murder, yes, her sentence is not long enough and that she has to rot in jail and no, he shouldn't hug her and uttered the word forgiveness. That is how most people would feel about the whole situation if their family member was the victim. Having said that, this family has done what no other family could do, they sought forgiveness over revenge, a piece of mind than a lifelong filled with anger and hatred. Instead of trying to understand why they made this decision, you guys went into a rampage in demonising all African Americans on the same brush as coons, why can't you understand this family from their own perspective? We Somalis are warriors with an unforgiving nature. Look our country how fierce and strong we are, soo ma aha?
