im not pro piracy and its almost died out entirely, but in the successful missions these ships end up on our coast and are unused and like I said there are like 2 or 3 instances that they were expensive yachts being wasted on the coast of somali among other things like oil tankers lolWarya, you have loose morals at times. Most modern cheap boats and ships are made from fibre glass.
We have all the materials to create it other than plastic/petroleum which we can import for cheap.
It just requires a certain level of skills and industry know-how to get started but we can easily find those in the global marketplace...It's an old tech.
We can also use it to build all sorts of products and components.

There are trees in Somalia ofc but not the type to make big ships, that’s why across the red sea region (both African/Arab) the only types used were dhows.
Plus it takes 2000 trees to make just one war ship. Northern somali mountains just don’t have the capacity to build that many ships or else it’s resources would be easily depleted.

Grain is usually eaten more than meat because it last longer, and it is easier to cook it doesn't take 3hr to cook instead it would be a hour or less.

Sorghum is grown across Somalia, and is the preferred flour for making Canjeero.
It’s definitely a Somali dish.

We are discussing the origins of these dishes and not how we adopted to them like the recipes we use to create them. Injera aka canjeero has its origins in Ethiopia and maybe beyond their shores. The Geeljire stable diet has always been cad (meat) iyo caano (milk). Even the bananas that we adore so much and eat it even with biscuits was introduced to our shores by the Italians. Why do you guys feel so paranoid about it?

Sorghum is native to Somalia and was not introduced by colonialists and is the flour used to make canjeero. I did not say that bananas were a native somali food, but canjeero.
Agropastoralist clans like the Rahanweyn, Habar Awal, Ciise, Jidwaaq, Gadabursi etc all grew sorghum and other grains so what you are saying is true. No doubt in some regions like eastern somaliland and puntland, that may have very well been the case (though they imported rice and coffee etc).

I spoke with several old men who used to herd geel with my father during his childhood. They told me the only time they ate something was during eid days. They only drank caano geel to survive but it’s a lot more nutritious than eating plain carbs. if they were drinking 12 cups of caano geel per day, they were getting at least 70g of protein and 1500cals per day from it and lots of calcium, vitamin C
