Interesting, but aren't Warsangeli mostly coastal people? They're population today probably is over the 400k mark. So I'm not sure if they would only be 3 %.

It's hard to believe that Warsangeli was ever that small, a google maps tour of eastern Sanaag basically disproves this. Badhan district alone has something like 250,000 while Berbera and Gabilay combined had 280,000. Warsangeli is a large clan by any measure.

Then you have Las Qoray, Ceerigabo, Hadaaftimo, Dhahar and all the other small towns that surround it. Such growth couldn't have been possible.

That figure shows that Dhulbahante are 5x their size, whilst I'll be surprised if we are double their population today.
