There were no archaeologists in the Horn in 1814. The first mention of Harari, is by Richard Burton,who visited Harar in 1850. The term Harari is loosely used for any person that’s a resident of Harar. Present day Harari’s are an amalgamation of Oromo-Habeshi & Arab immigrants, why didn't he differentiate or mention the so called distinct harari group lol

The thing is, they are saying there is no such ethnic group as Hararis, but those who claim to be Hararis are in fact Oromos, Gurage, and sidamos. This is the same attacks as the Oromos claiming Hararis to be imposers Aderi. This is an attack on this vulnerable people.

No. They're a separate distinct community of their own and thus an ethnic group. Though, they may have different origin going back centuries, which is the same for let's say the Oromos in the region, that have also absorbed/assimilated quite a lot of people.
