Muqdisho paying more taxes then the rest of the country even if it was true doesn't mean anything since the infrastructure that led to muqdisho being built and settled all was built under the name of Somalia. You think any business will open in muqdisho if there is no people? and why you think people come to a city? they come when there is opportunities in employment, education, health, etc? none of the forementioned can occur if there is no infrastructure(roads, airports, ports, schools, hospitals). U think muqdisho which got that turkish aid to build those hospitals came under the 'hawiye' name? it was given again under 'somali' name, if there was no somali govt muqdisho would return to it's pre 1960 status of 2 districts, it would slowly disappear as the infrastructure starts to crumble because no-one is maintaining it and people will migrate to where-ever the infrastructure is being built.
Should Benadir become a federal?

Xamar, Mogadishu status is a difficult situation. Because the same argument that Mogadishu was built under Somali name can easily be applied to every city in Somalia. Bosaso/Berbera/Kismayo wouldn't exist either if it wasn't for the infrastructure taken in somali name. The only difference with mogadishu and the rest of the other cities is, they don't claim to be the seat of Somalia. Politically Mogadishu will need to be shared because it's claiming it's the capital for all Somalia. But economically each region will need to pay their federal taxes there is no question about that because all of it comes from Somalia name, no clan built it's own infrastructure under it's name.

Even these airport being built in Puntland are given under the name of Somalia, it's basically coming from your name so it's only fair you ask for taxes to be collected from it. Infact anything that is using the road of siyad barre and thats every city in Somalia all the businesses, checkpoints, they use this infrastructure and all somalis have a right to get their taxation out of them since it's theirs.

Nothing about the future of Mogadishu was decided in Garowe village. The only people who can decide the future of Mogadishu are reer Muqdisho themselves.
Do you actually think 2.5 million people (1/4 of the somali population) will be held hostage and have no rights just because some dude in Nugaal says so?
No-way José.

No way, Jose.

If that wasn't the case why are we even having this discussion? If her fate wasn't decided, people wouldn't be daydreaming about non existing banadir state

The censored keep throwing around fake numbers about Mogadishu's population. As someone who has been there, I can tell you the population is well under a million. No way it approaches 2 million, let alone 3. We have a lot of dumb uneducated morons with no understanding of demography repeating some NGO estimates without any critical thinking. How can dirty, bombed-out Mogadishu, a city that has only one apartment complex, have 3 million people when the city I live in, Seattle, one of the most dense urban areas in the United States, only has a population of 800,000? Doesn't make sense. At most Mog is 500,000, and a substantial number of the population there is Bantu and Raxanwayn. Whatever political agreement is reached, we will make sure to call for 4.5 power sharing in the city to empower those non-censored groups, not that we give a shit about them but to derail censored delusions of dominating the area.
