- Alshabab has trained specialists in sniper technology, IED technology and anti-aerial capabilities.
- Alshabab has acquired drones allowing them to perform Reconnaissance effectively around amisom bases. It is expected these will be armed soon.
- Weapons are acquired through numerous traders in Somalia. They are sourced primarily from yemen, djibouti and iran via Puntland.
- Weapons are also acquired from federal 'states' and the FGS itself.
- Chemical materials needed for explosives are imported in ports via buisnesses.
