Recognition is the most important thing for non-recognized states. Eastern regions always been disputed nothing new.
Western Sahara is recognized by many countries. As long as a state doesn’t have seat at the UN it doesn’t mean anything.
And the thing is, it’s not even about recognition or using Ethiopian help against SSC.It’s the permanent military/navy base.
No one wants to be landlocked even if they have to sacrifice millions of their citizens. We all know how long It took Christian(it matters to the west)

They are both locked, but Ceel la helay is in Awdal while Ceel Sheekh is disputed between regions. Last year, Samaroon and Ciise were farming on Biji riverbed in Ceel la helay, while Habar Awal were farming downstream into Maroodi Jeex.
Not all of Samaroon land is apart of Awdal. There's still many of our villages in Maroodi Jeex. Suldaan Samatar visited some, like Balayga Cas, Ilinita, Gobka, and other Samaroon villages two weeks ago.

No one lives in Ceel Sheekh. It's no man's land. It's even disputed between regions. The closest population centre to it is Ido Cadays settled by Samaroon and we will still protest the Ethiopian base.
