If AS is not weakened before ATMIS leaves Somalia is in big trouble.

AS can fight without giving a damn about civilian casualties which makes dagaaling them extra hard.

They will savage their way to the capital, spilling as much blood as possible to achieve victory.

They have been saying it for years they will come for the capital in full force once ATMIS leaves.

Damn 2004 Ceel macaan was dealing with 2 million metric tonnes whilst Bosaaso and Berbera inbound cargo was 368,000 and 552,000 respectively. We benefitted a lot from the closure of the main Mogadishu port in 1995. 11 years of being one of the only two southern ports (other being kismaayo) had its advantages.

Mogadishu Port needs to be relocated due to no space for further expansion. Ceel macaan needs to be making millions again :banderas:

NAIROBI, 24 August (IRIN) - As another sign of improved security in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, the country's main port was officially re-opened on Thursday after more than 11 years.
"The chairman of the courts [Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed] officially opened the port today [Thursday]," said Sheikh Umar Ahmed Weheliye, the port manager.
The business community in Mogadishu has, since 1995, been using the beach port of El Ma'an, 30 km north of the city, which was expensive and time-consuming. "Since ships could not dock, cargo was offloaded on small boats that would bring it ashore. On many occasions cargo was dropped in the sea and the business people had to absorb the loss or pass it on to the consumer," Ali said.

They also had to deal with roadblocks manned by different militias, who extorted money from the trucks delivering goods to the city, adding to the cost of the goods.
For sure sxb and then Sharif opened the main. We still take in the taxes today as HSM named a H.Nugaale guy. Dhagaxtuur (Owbakar) was the Agaasime/Director of port operations and he just recently got replaced after 14 years of holding that position.

The famous Nairobi chairfight was led by Qanyare and Xamar warlords

Btw Qanyare was founder of ARPCT and saved the warlords first by creating the movement in dayniile then when ICU conquered xamar he first went to ceelbuur and the rest of the warlords followed him there he paid for all their flights from there to nairobi djbouti and baidoa

Qanyare led G8

G8 led by Qanyare told IGAD to reduce parliament to 275 seats from the 450 they proposed. Thats now the lower house of 61 seats for the 4.5 clans

Murusade even contributed heavily to JVA that was formed in 2001 and headed by Bare Hiiraale a MX. Xuseen Caydiid sent Duduble Ayr Militia and Qanyare sent nearly 30 bandwagons, they attacked Kismaayo after Morgan and the SRRC undermined Abdiqasim using Ethiopia and Kenya, Qanyare would later lead G8 which included JVA and an RRA faction. This article was from a MJ mouthpiece and former AY spokesman from the US on http://SomaliaWatch.org kkkkk

As much as it hurts to admit, there might be some truth to this. Always wondered where was the elders during the 4 month war when thousands died. Not to mention the 15 year stalemate and living in a state of limbo. Only time the capital saw complete peace was ICU six months of rule and post 2011 shared Mogadishu brought the stability we see now as one clan was unable to completely defeat the other.
The elders were there but were hindering any organised military response to bring law and order causing the stalemate we saw during that time
Xamar saw actual peace for the first and longest time during Sheekh Cali Dheere's Maxkamad which was around for one year and a half

The same capital they didn't have total control of at their peak and with now people aware of their scam

Image of I don't think so.

Yes correct. Sheekh Cali Dheere’s maxakamad during late 90’s brought stability to Northern districts

However, surely the same applies for Kismaayo/JL and the southern Daroods? Those regions were not exactly peaceful during the civil war and clan hostility was brought to an end with Ras kambooni, an islamist movement, not clan elders. The only thing keeping the OG and MX not fighting each other today is AMISOM and Al Shabaab controlling the entire Middle Jubba region.

I think this effects the south as a whole rather than specific clans. Also the south having dozens of clans all trying to dominate or defend their territory from more powerful clans has a part to play unlike SL and PL where there is one dominant clan that can regulate peace and order.

The South was more exploitable, it had a lot of potential for agricultural development.
The Italians did not even bother administering the north, leaving it to existing traditional rulers. The north was a protectorate. It was not colonized in the normal sense. The Italians only ruled the north from 1927 to 1941, or 14 years. Very little influence on local culture.
