I couldn't stomach watching it past 10 minutes. He shows how unhygienic Somalis are with their meat such as not caring about flies getting on them, piracy, inflation, talking about how we trash the environment, basically showing how much of a sh*thole Somalia is, we have a long way to go.

I did watch it and in my opinion people were overreacting.
It's true that the guy lied, at some point there was a kid who said my parents are not here (in somali) and the translator said "my parents are dead", he also lied in so many occasions.
He was clearly biased.
However he did expose the painful truth, and many people criticizing the way he depicted the country, would never live there anyway, says a lot about them.
Ugh I can't stand white people doing videos like this and making money from our Social media image.

He's not entirely wrong about the terrain though, the northeast (Puntland) and the majority of the northwest (Somaliland) of the country are arid desert. Even large parts of koonfur (south) are dry semi-arid bush.They really shouldn't chat about ancient history

There's a reason our people primarily lived as nomadic pastoralists wandering from one green pasture to the next for our livestock herds. Only the coastal people built up permanent trading settlements that were in contact with the wider world.
That's the problem, he took a run down tuulo and is saying that's how we really live. When in reality your average Somali lives in an apartment or house.
That's the reality of living standards in Somalia there's no point in denying it. You think the people in the big cities make up the majority? The majority live in tuulos that look like this, this cadaan might not respect Somalis but he ain't lying.
