These ppl are allowed to carry assault rifles to protests , and counter protests, imagine if one shot accidentally? It would be a mass panic shoots party

I remember Australia had gun-stores where they would sell fire-arms. Now that is over after the hobart massacre, the govt literally took away all the guns of the citizens and burned them thru the gun-buyback scheme. Not a single massacre has happened ever since. Guns are still allowed for genuine purposes like hunting, sports, etc but it's very strict process.

U need to pass mental health each year, no criminal background, you need to have gun-safe, u can only be outside with weapon when doing your sport or hunting. Farmers are also allowed.

Another factor is also they limit the gun-type so no aks or ar 15 automatics. It's only single shot rifles allowed for farmers n sports people. America needs to learn from Australian experience and get the guns off the street, self defence isn't a justification to own a firearm, well not here anyways. The homicide rate was shocking in Australia when guns were available to the public.

90% of all shootings and killings among civilians have something to do with the black market.
10% is law enforcement murders, personal motivated murders and school shootouts.
