A couple Nubian tribes adopted the Arab identity when Islam came to Sudan while some remained Nubian. Some people from Arabized tribes, especially the younger generation don't identify as Arab and only see a political kinship with Arab countries.
Sudan is neutral on the Qatar/Saudi beef in order to "settle" the disputes. Reality is both countries are investing in Sudan (Saudi Arabia $30 billion mostly agriculture, Qatar $2 billion mostly tourism) so cutting ties with one or the other would be a bad idea.

Anytime an ajnabi is mentioned it's a topic of discussion and as a spokesperson of the "stop tuuring it back for some...." movement I love that Somalis are unifying together.
