If this is true Somali politics is just a massive power play and allegiances could change at anytime.

A man who just last year called for all those who work for somaliland to be killed & tried to stop products coming in from somaliland.

But it will be beneficial if he can bring the whole east Sanaag with him

Looool I dont see this happening, and they playing the game like the dhulbahante, warsengalis left the somaliland project some time back, somaliland themselves know, the anti-sland sentiment from them is clear

Keep them close but be wary.

Don't think it's the same with Dhulbahante anymore - they'll fully embedded. Why when Waraabe slandered them there was an uproar. They're far too influential in the political arena & military.

But Warsan need to be brought in... Those soldiers that defected earlier are now independent as PL couldn't pay them so they're now all unemployed.

I dont see it happening abti, even with Dhulbahante its more complicated if were being honest, they are very divided, some are reer sland, some hate it with passion but also hate puntland at the same time. And the political power structure in sland does not help, its a ticking time bomb if things dont change. Sland and Puntland as they currently are are not in their best Interests, if things change politically then that might be a different case. But thats Qabiil politics that is holding back things in every part of Somalia, put Qabiil politics aside, I personally think a SSC federal state would be a good idea and would be in the interests of Warsans, habar yunus and dhulbohante that live there. (But it looks increasingly difficult to seperate Qabiil politics from the discussion)

My tribe doesn't matter.

My viewpoint is for Somaliland to return to the border pre1960 with fairness and justice for all. Regardless of tribe.

This place is toxic, I accidentally mentioned tribes which I don't like as I got family in both those groups.

Kulmiye since 2010 have destroyed Somaliland and it's political roadmap as set out by prev admins. So we're just waiting and building our business to kick em out and reform the whole system

Sxb you are being a super idealist right now, besides sland can sweet talk some olden men and claim whatever land but if the people dont care and will fight back its meaningless, plus international community would never let sland take sool and sanaag lool, they have tried before and failed.
And ofcourse it does matter what sub tribe you are

90% Sool is integrated in Somaliland the last 10% Taleex & Boocaame (only time will tell)

Sanaag is just East Sanaag which not long ago was celebrating 18may like everyone else who knows when Kulmiye leave they might all come back.

Buuhoodle is a seperate issue as one section of the town is fiercely Anti-SL due to their hatred against Isaaq for fighting Afweyne who gave them all mansions and power in his reign and blame them for the destruction of the state.

But with new leadership rather than Military develop all the areas around Buuhoodle and slowly win the people's favour.

BTW Somaliland General Mahad Caambaashe for Sool is in Buuhoodle district (training exercise)
