Very point of this thread is these sub clans are fighting over land now that Shabaab meesha laga saarey. There would have been no fighting if we didn’t get rid of Shabaab because they never used to allow clan fighting but now that they are gone, all these armed reer baadiyo are fighting over farms and the little wells built as Shabaab never built enough facilities for the amount of people there are. Hirshabelle lacks police and they don’t build anything so these miyi folks can stop fighting over resources.

Businessmen from xamar are starting to build these in the villages they hail from out of their own pocket’s now that they can actually visit it so that’s a start

I understand Hirshabelle being incapable to interfere due to capacity but what about clan elders. Abgaals use to have strong xeer tradition, though the old guard passed away. Even in PL, the current issimo are not a shadow of their fathers. However, there should be remnants of clan hierarchy. Imaamka should come out and interfere. Or your elite and leaders don’t care about miyiga and only care about Xamar. You lose miyi, you lose Xamar. Remember that.

Italians tried heavily to break down the xeer system in the south in general but it is still there for us. However you can see it getting weaker overtime especially since the civil war. I liked the previous imaam and the one before was very good according to elders aun. The imaam, Ugaas and Sheihk shariif did a 3 week long clan peace treaty which seemed to have worked.

It’s still quite strong in xamar but that might be based on the fact we have a common enemy in the capital and we move as one and can’t afford to be separated. But clan wars are long gone in xamar. People there today are mostly ilbaax
