Xeer 14 is related to presidential election and party election held at the same time. In other words oppositions are pissed their license are about to expire on December lol 😂 it’s a good bye to ucid and wadani. Which means bixi will get his extension and the guurti will decide if it’s either 2 years which most likely will be.

MBC masterclass :russsmug: @Dharbaaxo Jin

Waddani and UCID are led by f**kin morons. They could have played it smart and turned the public on MBC, arguing that he has not lived up to his promises etc and is only interested in keeping his kursi. Instead they acted like spoiled kids that want to have it all their way or no way, and somehow they ended up being the ones that look like all they care about is getting the kursi.
:lolbron:

Other than their own cult-like following, the rest of the country has turned on the opposition. Even the mild mannered Saleebaan Gaal aint having it, which is why the stupid act they passed is literally fluttering in the wind.

It’s even worst when Kulmiye is giving them free pass to easily get favoured their way but somehow they fucked it up

the tangerines also are having inner disputes with accepting the ruling amongst xirsi gaab and cirro

Yeah, Kulmiye made it easy for them yet these morons somehow still f**ked it up.

Waddani party definitely not united anymore, and forming two different camps. Xirsi Gaab and his followers on one side and Cirro, Batuun etc on the other.

. Just because they’re majorities in the parliament it doesn’t mean they should vote when kulmiye parliamentarians are absent. It was an illegal vote what did these morons think was gonna happen. They thought they gonna convince the guurti to approve what they have amended and it was the best decision guurti ever made.

and you're happy about it, the eroding of our democracy.

Presidential terms is 5 years, kulmiye and Muse planned to have the extensions as they on purpose chose not to start preparing for the November elections.

there would be no issue if they began work on election prep earlier in the year

Kulmiye is 2 for 2 now for extending presidential term further tarnishes Somalilands democratic credentials

The only thing I am happy about is that Waddani & UCID's stoking of violence to achieve political power has luckily not resulted in them getting their ways. They are uniquely responsible for jeopardizing 30 years of peace and stability in Somaliland.

Every president from Cigaal onwards has had their term extended. Kulmiye, Silaanyo & Biixi are no different or unique. This is because as much progress as we've made in achieving the only functioning democracy in the Horn of Africa, our ability to hold timely elections has a long ways to go. This is also not restricted to Presidential elections, as Parliamentary elections & Guurti elections have been delayed at different points.

The solution to fix this problem should be addressed through a change in the law and to put in place a more effective electoral commission.

MPs in parliament passed the law, and an undemocratic despot who is known to be in payroll of the ruling party sits at the head of the guurti.

The opposition are only enacting what kulmiye don't want, they know they'll lose the elections.

Diluted Somaliland to an administration in Somalia. Stole millions through mismanagement and made Somaliland more tribalist due to their favouritism.

If the IC didn't take away management there would've been no developments in the East

Come on, saxiib. Saleebaan Gaal is now a despot that is on Kulmiye's payroll? No one in their right mind believes that crazy conspiracy theory. Also, the Guurti has elders and leaders from around SL, if Saleebaan was on Kulmiye's payroll and acting like a dictator he'd be out in 2 seconds flat.
Also, that law you speak of was BS that was not worth the paper it was written on. It was forced through when a 1/3 of the parliament was away and even then only got 39/82 votes - less than 50% of the votes.
It would no way shape or form have addressed the issues SL has holding elections on time. It was only geared to deliver the one thing that the opposition want: for them to be in power asap.

The current Guurti is illegitimate at this point, their mandate has been extended 7 times since their terms ended in 2003!.

They've become a major impediment to Somaliland's democratic process by extending every Presidents term in return for their own extension.
