I have noticed Ottawa Issas will stop speaking French once they finish university/college and then leave for the bigger English speaking cities. They refuse to speak English before this and even engage with the Anglophones. They stay in the French parts of the east side of the city and then think that's all there is to the city and become disillusioned and leave and change their entire personality. I'm happy for her.

Quebecois are racist to the bone. Being able to speak French is no longer good enough. Being bilingual and live in English Canada should help Somali/DJiboutians secure jobs outside of Quebec.

It's a public facing role, more representation. We should celebrate success of Somali women in news as well.

It's a public facing profile which is good for our image. But my issue is the community parading around the fact that we have police officers. Big deal. 90% of their time is spent eating donuts or driving around town. They don't even do beat policing anymore. There are about a dozen Somali police officers in my city's police force and they make it like its a huge deal. Any Somali or Black person can be one, especially now. They are practically begging Blacks to join. You can even be a fat slob of any race.

Of lately cops just don’t want to be video recorded. They know they’ve being scrutinized heavily. They’ve missed the days before phone cameras where they use to edbi whomever would talk back to them.

Have you heard this before ..That’s… most cops use to be wife beaters. They use to bring that aggression home. The power tripping.
