You guys are a lot but do you all know each other or are there various sub communities?

And doesn't that technically means all you Americans that live around the Twin cites on here might know each other irl?

Imagine your freinds on here with someone but got beef irl and neither of you know it

There are not really sub communities, like what @Yaraye said. The Somalis here are quite nosy, there's no escaping them, not even in the suburbs. You'll see a few here and there.

Well, no. There's around 90,000-100,000. We can't all know each other, but they act very familiar once they recognize your Somali.

I've mostly grown up in nearly all white neighborhoods not close to the Twin Cities so I don't know many Somalis. But, the suburb I grew up in was close to another suburb that had a lot of Somalis. I'm an outlier as most know each other through living very close or in the Twin Cities. My father is a somewhat prominent Sheikh at one of the biggest masjids here though, so I have to watch myself.

@Javelin. To add on, I've moved since then but the place I live in is close to where other Somalis live in a different suburb.

Some families know each others. Either same sub qabiil/ extended family, from masjid, from neighboorhood, from somali stores/cafes, or even from somali schools. I grew up in a somali neighborhood and you can't even go out with out many habeyars asking you where you're going.

Its quite lit. I've gone many years in my childhood without even being near another ethnicity/race of people (except cadaans, they were my teachers at school)
Why you ruling out locations? Your giving yourself away by pointing out your not from an area.
there is less to figure out if someone wants to dox you when you rule out locations for them :gucciwhat:

Yeah I understand funnily enough both my neighbours are somali one of them is cool but the other has been a living nightmare to live next to for the entire neighboorhood and we face the brunt of there issues. You know what after futher thought maybe it's a good thing I don't live in a somali area :deadpeter:
