Somalia has this decade IMO to get itself together or it is done for, between climate change, diaspora losing touch with the country, and growing dissidence between the clan states most hope will be extinguished.

There are no real predictions for how climate change will affect the Somali region, but it does not look good going off current predictions. Most of Somlias massive cities are at the coasts or already humid locations, if Somalia as a whole or its clan states cannot put the institutions and policies in place to protect the region than I don’t believe there’s any future prospects for the region.

Balkanization doesn’t help anyone in the region in the long run, it doesn’t help the donor nations that poured resources into the nation, it doesn’t help the individual states hold any real regional influence in the future, nor does it particularly help the people living in those states. The greatest benefactor would probably be Ethiopia or Kenya.

If Somalia is still the same 10 years later, I doubt anyone would care for any of the regions if so.

I have heard climate change will benefit Somalia, the middle east greatly and it will turn these deserts green
