Yes, I was raised in the west and I'll do the same for my kids. Of course it all depends on how Somalia is headed in the next couple of decades or so.

Where I'll raise my family will probably mostly depend on my my spouse's and my careers but I would love for my children to become...worldly and not like your typical ignorant American kids. I'd love to raise them in a few different countries to give them a feel of how different the world can be.

Maybe a year or two in the Middle East to practice speaking and fine-tune their Arabic skills. A minimum of 2 years in Somalia to fine-tune their Somali, learn more about their culture, meet relatives and to just how live is in Somalia.

Frequent vacations to other countries around the world if we have the money,not for the sole purpose of having fun but to indulge their curiosity of the world and to learn about different cultures.

For the most part yes, I would raise them in the west. I might travel to the gulf though for a few years like Abu Dhabi or something and earn tax free money which is good for savings
