Would you move back...

If Somalia discovered massive oil and gas fields and billions started flowing in. The government offered generous incentives like housing, healthcare, and jobs similar to the petro gulf states.

The only catch is you can't have dual citizenship to claim those benefits...what would you?

Only those that contribute to the homeland and help out the locals and family deserve the right to return home and enjoy the fruits of our collective labour. Traitors and self haters can stay in their adoptive countries. At the very best they can be foreign ambassadors and representatives.

We need the right kind of people to build up a respectable country for our children and grandchildren.

I’d never live in Xamar again. Only a fool makes the same mistake twice. But elsewhere then maybe .

Well it did happen to me specifically, a lot of my family were killed AUN and our homes were all taken.
I don’t want to turn this into a qabiil thing. Many injustices happened then and still happen now.

May Allah ease your pain and have mercy on your deceased relatives, walaal

No.

It’s easy to say yes, but I guarantee 99 percent who said “yes” are chatting b*llcrap

Its similar to those who say to others “I will come back home to invest etc” 10 years later they’re still here in the U.K. in the coffe shops talking about qabil this qabil that.

Those who are actually serious going back home, are the ones who want to change the country for the better, they’re going back home to invest and to rebuild the country during its tough times like right now in 2022, not those who say “waiting until Somalia becomes a developed country with full of oil and gas fields” that’s you basically not caring about back home until it suits you and your comfort zone.

The hypocrisy is thrive, locals want you to come during tough times not when the country becomes good enough, as they won’t welcome you and they will say “where were you during the tough times?”

I'm planning on settling back home regardless. In the North my grandfather left a ton of real estate and my father's share is just lying there. Covid messed up plans but we are planning on going back later this year to start building houses so my parents can go back and live there.

I just hope somalis reconcile and unite to form somaliweyn in the future.
