Would you be willing to take your husband's surname?

But I changed that so it shouldn't be an issue now.

It is haraam for you to change it.

Why are you changing your lineage?

Your name second name should be your fathers name, then your grandfather then your great grandfather ect.

Islamically and culturally that is how it is meant to be.

I haven't changed anything.. It just a joke walal.. It seems like you take your family very seriously.

Its worse to take the surname of Somali as our surname means that we are the son of or the grandchild of ect. It is a mark of your lineage.

Cadaan people's surname is not an indication of lineage and it is merely a family name they have been given historically.

Any woman that takes your name, Somali or not, muslim or gaal, will be walking around claiming your abo and your grandfather as her father and grandfather.

Clearly it is worse.

But all in all changing your surname is haraam.
Exactly. If my last name is Guled and I change it to my husbands last name of Warsame, im basically saying that he’s my awoowe.
